Privacy Policy

Overview

MUBU Manhwa (`manhwa.mubu.dev`) is a private personal manhwa library. The optional browser extension (“MUBU Manhwa Reader”) syncs reading progress from supported scanlation sites to that library.

Who this is for

This service is operated for personal / household use. Contact: mus.budak@pm.me.

Website data

• If you create an account: email address, password hash, and optional display name.
• Reading library data you choose to store: series status, last-read chapter, favorites, notes.
• Session cookie used to keep you signed in.
• Standard server logs (IP, timestamps, requested URLs) for operation and abuse prevention.

Extension data

While you read on supported sites (Asura Scans, HiveToons, Vortex Scans), the extension may send:

• Source site id (e.g. hivetoon, asura, vortex)
• Series identifier / series URL
• Chapter number being read

This is used only to update reading progress in your MUBU library. The extension does not collect browsing history across the web, payment data, location, or personal messages.

Locally, the extension may store a scroll-threshold preference and a last-sync status in browser storage.

Offline reader

The optional offline reader (`/offline` / `/offline-app`, and the Android APK when published) stores imported PDF/CBZ files and reading position only on your device (browser IndexedDB or phone storage). Those files are never uploaded to manhwa.mubu.dev.

How data is used

• Provide and sync your personal reading library
• Authenticate signed-in users
• Keep the service working and secure

Data is not sold. Data is not used for advertising or credit decisions.

Sharing

Progress sync from the extension is sent only to `manhwa.mubu.dev`. We do not sell or share personal data with third-party advertisers. Hosting/infrastructure providers may process technical logs as needed to run the server.

Retention

Account and library data are kept while the service is in use. You can ask for deletion by emailing the contact above. Server logs are retained only as long as needed for operations.

Your choices

• You can stop using the extension or uninstall it at any time.
• You can browse the library without the extension.
• You can request account/data deletion via email.

Changes

This policy may be updated when the site or extension changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when that happens.
